He’ll let you know asap.
what did you add?
Hi,
there is a way that os identical to all location.
http://wpgeo.directory/hotels/united-states/new-york/new-york/?gd_neighbourhood=midtown
Which is working, however there seems to be a session problem, because the neighbourhood variable is not attached to the category links when visiting this page:
http://wpgeo.directory/location/united-states/new-york/new-york/?gd_neighbourhood=midtown
and it should…
It’s a bug and I need to report it to the developers to fix it.
Thanks for helping finding it.
You have to modify this css:
.geodir_list_heading h1, .geodir_list_heading h2, .geodir_list_heading h3, .geodir_list_heading h4, .geodir_list_heading h5 { display: inline-block; vertical-align: baseline; width: calc(50% - 5px); } .geodir_list_heading a { display: inline-block; text-align: right; vertical-align: baseline; width: 50%; }
Increase the width of the 1st elements and reduce the width of the second element.
Thx
Hi,
there are other members using GD in German.
One possible solution could be to check that the collation of all the DB tables is compatible with German characters. GD creates few extra tables and I’m not 100% sure if it creates them using the same collation of the rest of the db or a default collation.
I’m flagging this for Vikas, to get a faster response, I suggest to send a link, wp-admin, ftp and phpmyadmin credentials. You can do that in a private reply.
Thx
Hi,
I made a mistake giving you the css, I’m sorry.
It should have been display:none;
Not display:block;
But now I’m confused and I don’t understandwhat you want to do…
What am I missing?
Thx
Hi,
just for precision.
If you look closely, major city areas, in both sites are not treated as neighbourhoods, but as an indipendent main locations.
State NEW YORK: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g28953-New_York-Vacations.html
Locations: New York City, Brooklin, Bronx etc.
New York City Neighbourhoods on tripadvisor (No Brooklyn in there):
Manhattan
Midtown
Murray Hill
Upper West Side
Theater District – Times Square
Financial District
Hell’s Kitchen
Upper East Side
Chelsea
SoHo
Garment District
Gramercy Park
Lower East Side
East Village
Chinatown
Harlem
West Village
etc…On Yelp, Brooklyn is as well a main location and has it’s own neighbourhoods:
http://www.yelp.com/c/brooklyn/restaurants
Bath Beach
Bay Ridge
Bedford Stuyvesant
Bensonhurst
Bergen Beach
Boerum Hill
Borough Park
etc…Brooklyn can be set as a main location on GD too.
Thx
Hi,
no there is no board, users will +1 here with replies and we easily can keep track of them in our project manager…
Thanks for your suggestion.
HI Vuk,
I just checked and can confirm there is a problem there.
I’ve flagged this topic for the developers so that they can follow up.
Thanks
there is no way other than coding your own widget area next to menu and adjusting with css like Guust said…
Thx
Hi again,
FYI, if settings entered are correct, GA statistic works. Please see image attached from our demo.
As I said in a previous post :
“If you want me to check your settings, please send a link and wp-admin credentials and a screenshot of your google analytics profile.”
Thx
yes it is, either you disable that, or you need to create an app password: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en
With the 2 step verification enabled, the API will require the 2 step verification that GD is not able to provide.
Thx
July 6, 2014 at 6:50 pm in reply to: Remove "Popular Categories" title without removong the widgets itself #7622In the demo we are not using the widget in home page at all…
Just FYI.
please set next reply as private. Only moderators will be able to see the details.
Thx
there is no easy way to do that.
We are only able to show Neighbourhood names like that in URL.
Just FYI, other wesbite like tripadvisor don’t even add the neighbourhood name in the URL. Thye filter it using a sesssion only, while yelp uses URL like that for neighbourhoods: http://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=restaurants&find_loc=Upper+East+Side%2C+Manhattan%2C+NY
If they were so successful with such hugly permalinks I don’t see why you shouldn’t… 🙂
Thx
