One more question. I do not see footer.php in my GDF child theme folder. Should I add it to the footer.php file in the core GD theme folder or copy the edited php file over to the GDF child theme folder?
Does Theme-My-Login eliminate the author page? The features look very close to the profile features Paolo was describing, which are a must in my opinion.
I don’t know if it is working the same way for anyone else, but when I go to my Author page it shows one post type (the Places post type which has been changed to a lesser used post type on my site). I thought it was supposed to show all listings I have posted.
I would LOVE to not have the author page accessible at all. I agree with jltrinka that it is ultimately unnecessary.
Yeah, I only used Places as an example. My point was that with Places, you’d never notice that it was using Post Type instead of Name on the listing pages. However, when you start entering custom post types, you realize it is showing Post Type when it really should be showing Name.

So you are agreeing that it should take that from Name in CPT, not from Post Type.

Are you sure it is displaying the Name in the demo? If you have the Name and Post Type as the same thing in CPT then you’d never notice.

I’ve taken a look at the translation file as you suggested and I’m convinced we are not on the same page.
All the text is displaying the Name from under CTP and this one area is displaying the Post Type from CTP. See attached screen shot.
Neither of those responses make any sense to me. Correct what in my Custom Post Types? I realize it isn’t coming from the slug, but shouldn’t it be?
Can I get some assistance on this please? It is important that we can allow video to be embedded on our listings.
I am using the youtube embed code. Is there some other way I should be inputting the video or is this simply not a functional feature at this point?

I went ahead and took you advice Paolo. It seems to be working out well. I just wonder if there are going to be any issues that come from the fact that I can’t change the post type name and taxonomies; Just the slug and labels have been changed. Please let me know. Thx
Hey, we were able to figure this out and are very happy with the results. Thanks for posting the solution Chris.
However, whenever you update the GD plugin and Theme you have to re-upload the maps.js file. Is there any way I can add that file to the child theme so it will remain the default maps.js file?
Well, I already have all my post types and categories built out with listings in place. It would be SO much easier if I could just delete or deactivate it from the search bar.
Is there anything that could be done?

I would love to get this resolved as the site is now technically live @ LIBERTY.menu. And a lot of our listers will want to include video.
The code we are trying to enter is the youtube embed code.
Try registering again. I have now allowed New User Registration.

Maybe I don’t get it but how does translating the core plugin allow me to change what the default widget text says?
I was under the impression the language files were specifically for translation to other languages?
