Thanks Guust, I tried removing places from every location you mentioned. The only place it remains is on the advanced search menu… which is the place I need it removed from the most.
That helps. Thanks. So I just put in 40 and it will recognize it as miles?
But that would be specifically for “Maximum Search Range”. What can I input for the other two?
I’ll second Roger’s request. The map really should be able to show more than one custom post type at a time.
I would like to add this one for consideration as well…
The “Popular post view” widget (which is the widget most of our homepages use to display listings) should have the ability to show all custom post types. This would be really beneficial if you are running numerous CPT’s and want to easily display the latest listings, featured listings or highest rated listings across all post types.
If you like this idea please support it by heading over to the thread where I covered this need and giving it a bump! > https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/widget-that-pulls-from-all-post-types/#post-7073
Thanks!
Ok, that seems fair. I wasn’t sure if there may be an easier solution. I will see if I can rally the GD users to support this upgrade.
Thank you so much for the assistance. I would never have suspected that simple plugin would have effected something so unconnected.
Again I appreciate your help! You may mark this thread as Resolved if you’d like.
This reply has been marked as private.I am posting this “wish” without having read all the previous ones, so my apologies if it has been mentioned already.
In the search bar where it starts with a drop down menu with the post types, can you make it so when you select the category it doesn’t immediately jump to that post type’s archive page before you have a chance to type in “Search for” and “Near” and click “search”? It really should just narrow your keyword search to that post type.
Thanks!
Thank for looking into this Paolo! Hopefully Stiofan will have some insight into this to get things working properly again. I will be waiting for his reply.
This reply has been marked as private.Sure, you can see the issue with the login widget here > http://dev.liberty.menu/places/
Let me know if you need to get into the backend to see that as well and I will provide my login in a private post.
I applied the CSS you provided to the “quick code” section. Unfortunately this did not fix my problem. I don’t know if it’s an overflow issue.
Considering it’s effecting both the login widget and the “navigation” tab on the wp backend I feel like it may be something different.
I just wanted to report back that since the latest updates most of my issues have been resolved.
There is still one however that persists. Once this is fixed we can mark this topic as resolved.
The “My Dashboard” widget as well as a page on the back end under Geodirectory>Design>Navigation, the drop down selection fields are condensed down to about 50px wide. I saw in another post that this could be fixed by clearing cache data, but that did nothing for me. I did some investigating on the forum to see if this has been resolved another way but didn’t find anything. What can I do to correct this? Thanks!
Great, thank you so much for your help Paolo! I’ll make that change for now and await the next update. Fingers crossed it resolves all my issues.
I do have restaurants in as a custom post type. It just so happens that “restaurants” is a category of the Places post type too. I will be getting rid of “places” before launch. I just left it up since that’s the post type all the dummy content is under. I don’t have any listings under any of the post types accept “events” at this point.
My organization is based on various post types. I did it this way because I need specific filters for each post type. What you see in the search drop down are all the post types. I then have every conceivable category under their respective post type. Careful if you have a lot of categories. The database seems to be limited to 100. I had to increase the amount of input variables, and I’m still trying to iron out.
The main menu however, is a mish-mash of categories from the various post types organized to be more intuitive for the user.
Thanks, it is “Mega Main Menu”.
