I’m experimenting with https://wordpress.org/plugins/wplike2get/ wplike2get which works OK on GD widgets, not so sure about Enfold pages.

I’m adding it to the add_listing page to show the option box when a “Like” or “Tweet” is made, but that page is refreshing when an option is chosen and resetting the button to unpressed, so I have to think about my logic.

If it’s working after the next GD update I’ll post some code.

    I have no patience! 😉

I’m really hanging out for an update, there have been too many changes since 1.1.8 was released! You should really think about making daily builds available for those of us who need to modify GD, I don’t want to spend two weeks making changes only to find that you have already changed the things I’m working on.

    Thanks.

My workaround for now is to sort the $package_list_info by ‘amount’

Duplicator will backup and restore the entire site for you, including images etc, from anywhere – to anywhere.

    It’s my favourite WP plugin!

Might be more than you are looking for, but it will get everything you need.

“Anybody could have put a private message with their contact details to get a conversation going.”

But we can’t, can we? Only the initiator and admins can exchange private messages. If I post a private message here only you can see it. Or am I mistaken?

I’m never likely to bid on a job, but if GD are claiming to open up support opportunities to private developers the system needs to be fair, and be seen to be fair.

As Paolo pointed out, you can enter a full address into the address field and Google will find it. The problem is that the address is parsed to the GD fields and re-validated, incorrectly by Google.

Which is why I think an option to disable Google address validation might solve these sorts of problems?

Stiofan, what would be the problems created by disabling Google validation of an address when a listing is created?

Would all the GD functionality still work so long as there was a valid Lat and Lon for a listing?

It might solve a few problems being created in different parts of the world by different address formats?

Hence my first comment. Why pretend this forum is set up so that independent developers can vie for work when the mechanism to do so doesn’t exist and what does exists clearly favours admins?

Hi Guust, My understanding is that “only moderators can see private messages” as is mentioned numerous times in the forums.

How can GD users create private messages with the initiator of the job request, that are visible only to the initiator and responder?

If the admins are going to start private conversations in the public jobs forum, how about taking the conversation off-line, or setting up an admins only job forum?

Or, remove this from the sidebar…

In my case, I want to display it on the Listings page and it looks like it would be the same data that gets displayed in the listings map, so maybe there is existing code that can be used?

“http://wpgeo.directory/ = Home page of location EVERYWHERE”

Is actually the home page showing ALL CPT for the CURRENT location. (Everywhere, or a selected location filter)

http://wpgeo.directory/location/ = Home page of ALL CPT for ALL locations -> location EVERYWHERE

Thanks Paolo, Yeah I think I was using Stiofan’s compatibility pack for Enfold when I was styling my site and noticed the difference. It’s not a big deal, thanks for looking at it.

Just a warning that we are being bound by the limitations of Google maps validation here.

    We have two localities…

Bilgola Plateau and Bilgola Beach, they are adjacent localities, with the same postcode. According to Australia Post there are indeed two separate localities…

    http://auspost.com.au/apps/postcode.html

But Google will only recognise Bilgola Beach, and it puts the pin in Bilgola Plateau, strangely, and updates the name of the locality incorrectly.

I can use the Guust technique of adding Bilgola Plateau after positioning the pin, but when I enter a location as Bilgola Plateau Google throws an error asking me to select a town it can actually find.

It would be a nice option to be able to disable the Google checking when entering an address. Users already have the option of positioning the pin, and typing in the address, both of which obtain the correct lat and lon. There is a limit to the usefulness of this functionality.

Hi Stiofan, I just wanted to adjust the margins in the content area. Every other page seemed to have that div id but for that page I had to use a different class to do the same thing as on every other page. I’m not sure why that page HAS to be different, I was just looking at something simple.
