That is, will GD work ok with it? Will there be any problems switching over later?
My idea was that i could postpone paid security until i got my site setup. That would also give me time to read about it (i know very little). Once that happened, and i added some listings, i could look at switching.
Is that a feasible plan, or could it create problems?

I’m still unable to login to my WordPress dashboard (i get a blank screen after ‘login’). Is there a path you use to get in?
As such, i can’t check on anything you mention in your post.
This is why i suggested the alternative in post 724. Would that work?
By the way, i see the private replies i sent before which i couldn’t see earlier.
What was the issue? Were they marked as spam by your system?

I don’t know why that’s happening for you as i tried to log in with ftp just now and got in fine. I can also log in to WordPress but just get a blank screen.
Could i suggest an alternative? Would it be ok for me to delete everything – the backup folder and two GD v2 plugins GD and GD Location Manager – and start all over again with v2?

1) after the upgrade process i got a message about two Places existing and they’re in conflict – something like that. Apologies, i didn’t pay attention and didn’t record the message.
2) i’m not sure whether this applies only to Location Manager v1, but there’s still no Multilocations menu under the GD menu. Does this only apply to v2?
3) I disabled maps in the setup, but i also have no search any more on my home page (Supreme theme).There are some faint shortcodes where a search boxes used to be.
4) No places appear in the GD Dashboard, yet if i go to the Places menu in the WP dashboard, several places appear (the sample data).
If you want to log in again, the details i provided earlier are still valid.

Because i originally just downloaded the plugin from WordPress i didn’t pay attention to the version, but when i downloaded the LM i wanted to get the latest version.
It didn’t occur to me that i had different versions.
I’ll do as you suggest and get the V2 version of the core and go from there.
