Thanks. I have seen that option. I can create a welcome page and have it redirect from Registration and then have a link for their profile on that page and I will do that.
The My Account Profile page is one of the main pages on the site for either a user or business owner and every time you visit my site you will either see the link for “Login/Register’ or “My Account” in the top right corner. This link just begs someone to either Register or check out their Profile.
But then it really falls short. There seems to be no way that as a Website owner that I can communicate with my users or business owners. There seems to be no way to encourage the users to save their favorites or save lists and share them, or for me to recommend a new business or suggest that they share my page or enter my current giveaways. Lots of missed opportunities.
Although these are features of GD this Profile area really falls short in many ways and a Welcome Message is just the start. I am just looking for a solution that would help me make my GD directory more awesome than it is.
Maybe there is another solution. Just looking for ideas. I might be able to install an Ads Manager and share ads or text in the Profile area.
Is it possible to have a Widget only display in the Profile area? Can I add a notification to the Profile area?

I just would like to ask you your thoughts and opinion on how I am thinking of using this to see if you think it is necessary or a good idea to check this box for this CPT.
I am adding a CPT for Giveaways and typically Giveaways are dated lasting for 1 or 2 weeks on average. I plan on having multiple giveaways running at any given time. And because I want people to see past giveaways and the winners info I would like to be able to display those as Past Giveaways on the page.
Would you think that it would be a good idea to “treat this as an event” when I create the CPT?

Alex, I thought that “UsersWP” was the Solution that GD added? Are you saying that GD is working on integrating other Membership Plugins?
I really don’t need a membership plugin in particular. What I need is a way to add more options and features for users.
I find the Users Profile area very confusing and not very functional. If I signed up on my site as a user I would be really disappointed. What you see is banners telling you that there is nothing there. Why? Because a new account has no lists, no favorites, no listings etc. So a new user is taken to a page that tells them nothing.. not even a Hello or Welcome.
There doesn’t seem to be a way to put a Welcome Message inside the user profile, is there? Maybe I missed it.

I am still unclear if I am supposed to create a page titled “lists” in order for this to work…because that certainly is NOT in the documentation.
It says to add Lists to the menu.
It obviously creates an archive page because it is titled “Post Type Archives: Lists” and I did nothing but create a page and named it “lists”
Disappointing that this is a feature of GD and the implementation is horrible.
Thanks.. this addon is certainly not ready for primetime. Going to just remove it.

Please help me understand what #3 means under Usage.
How do you add a link to the menu if there is no page to link? I created a new page called Lists and saved it, with nothing else in it. I originally had some loop actions added to the page but they didn’t display so I removed them.

What other controls are there?
Are there better instructions?So this is what you get out of the box when you set up this addon? Or is this not setup correctly on my end?

Thanks but you haven’t explained how to set up the plugin. The instructions that I found in the docs suck honestly for a feature that has been promoted and has it’s on Addon.But it seems like you are saying that out of the box this addon provides a page that has a HORRIBLE header title of Post Types Archive….surely that can’t be so!!!! Tell me please that you are NOT telling me that to fix this it needs customization?
If that is the case I will remove this addon about as quick or quicker than I added it. I hope that I am not understanding you correctly.

Thanks.. Guust what you shared solved my duplication issue. I realize that I think this issue happened because of my Events.
I am using the Xylus Event Aggregator and it must be assigning them to NM instead of New Mexico so it seems to be duplicating the cities. I will reach out to them to see if they have a solution.

Alex, Thanks.. the GD Listings Widget allows me to do what I am looking to do. I can select also by Page/Post ID which is helpful and gives me a lot of control. Thanks.
I have a question about this GD Listings Widget. Is it possible to pull in listings from more than one post type with it? Or is there another way to do it?
