Alex I think you misunderstood my question. I am asking how I should organize my directory to minimize load and also to keep things organized. My tier 2 “topics” or “categories” are the same for both my tier 1 categories. As you mentioned that categories will not link, similarly a sub-category cannot belong to two main categories correct? In that case would it be better for me to make individual CPTs for my tier 2?
