Please send me the link, that documentation does not tell me anything !
How do i get to this ??
Hi Alex
Sorry but i have no idea what you talking about, why do you make this so complicated ? All i want to do is add the Verified badge on the listing page. Why it does not default to this is beyond me ?
The video you show, am guessing is from V1, has a dropdown beside the text
” Show owner verified text on listings” with what i am guessing is Yes / No.
Does V2 not have this ? if so why would you go backwards and make it more complicated !
Please tell me in simple terms how i can do this.
Kind Regards
Scott
Hi Stiofan
I am not to sure i understand your response, and some feedback, as an app support engineer i am quite technical, but your responses and some of the responses from your support staff are quite cryptic.
In easy to understand terms,
You mentioned
“If you look at both of your examples the “Country” is correct. Ireland/UK.”
As i mentioned, we need to be able to select “Rep of Ireland” and Northern Ireland, these are two different countries and sometimes shops deliver to just one of them.
Google as the mentioned send both these countries in the API so can you confirm why geodirectory is not showing them and resolve this please.
Many thanks
Scott
Hi Folks
See below response. Looks like the issue is on your side.

Thanks for posting! We checked and this issue is working as intended as both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland (Ireland) are in our data. You can check the geocoding tool here:
Northern Ireland – https://google-developers.appspot.com/maps/documentation/utils/geocoder/#q%3DNorthern%2520Ireland%2520UK
Republic of Ireland (Ireland) – https://google-developers.appspot.com/maps/documentation/utils/geocoder/#q%3DRepublic%2520of%2520Ireland
If your plug-in is filtering the results by ‘country’, you also need to include ‘administrative_area_level_1’ in your filter for countries in UK since UK countries such as England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are type administrative_area_level_1.

Hi Naveen
Thank you for the update, we hid the text last night due to Alex’s and Kor’s response.

Alex, please correct me if i am wrong, and sorry for the blunt response, but GeoDirectory is a “Directory” plugin right ???
Any directory plugin, theme, component that i have come across in the past from Joomla, to WordPress and there has been many, you are able to search two ways.
1. Via a category search, usually done via a select dropdown
2. Keyword search.to say “but categories are not included in the option at:” is just crazy, as i mentioned, i am happy for us to remove the text
Home » You searched for “ ” ”
as the category is already displayed in the dropdown on the page, please let me know how i can do this via your plugin.
Kind Regards
Scott
Hi Kor,
So as per my first comment, I am searching for Bicycle Shops using the category dropdown search.

Hi Stiofan
Just wondering when you hope to have the CSS you mentioned on our call ?
Kind Regards
Scott
Hi Stiofan
I am just following up on the call from Tuesday, were you able to come up with a way for us to do the field / filter without having to create multiple CPT’s or is this something you need to build ?
Kind Regards
Scott
This reply has been marked as private.Hi Stiofan
I feel like i am banging my head against the wall, i have absolutely no issue in breaking it down into Category
and Sub Categories but for the 10th time, this is only a partial fix. It does not address the biggest issue. If you have a specific field or filter only associated with one category we have you need to create a custom post type for each one right ?We have 88 categories so this means creating a post type for each one ?
and if this is true, then you need to administer Custom Fields, Sorting, Tabs, General, Search, and Packages for each one ? If so as you can imagine this would be a massive overhead and not feasible.
Also your above response and the response from my review seems to suggest my suggestion of associating a custom field to specific categories is not technically possible. This is the first time you have ever said this. In fact you said the opposite to me, you said
“I’m not 100% against the idea but its not a feature that has been requested any time recently. I would need more convincing to make it a top priority.”
To summarise, i am happy to do anything we need to get this working but only if it makes sense on our side, and also once its future proofed. It may be ok to do this now with only a few custom fields, but in 6 months or a year if we have 50 fields specific to only one category this will not work.
Kind Regards
Scott
