Ok thanks,
We are now getting an error, see attached.
We are not charging so we do not need any cart.
Cheers
Scott

See attachment.

Hi Folks
Unfortunately we are still having problems doing this.
Currently we are using the form “Form we currently use.png” and we would like to use the form “Form we would like.png”
What we need to confirm is
1. The form only sends email to the email address on the listing.
2. The form only shows when an email address is added to the listing. Can you confirm how we do this.
Kind Regards
Scott
Ok thanks Alex,
How do we set it that Non Logged in users can also add listings.
Kind Regards
Scott
thanks Alex, that worked 🙂
How would we use this on a page?
I’ve created
https://dev.shoppingonline.ie/latest-shops/With these contents:
[gd_loop_actions sort_by=”post_date_desc”]
[gd_loop layout=0]
[gd_loop_paging]However it says “No listings found that match your selection.” because this is a search.
We simply want a page that shows the latest listings.
We want to have a SINGLE page with LATEST listings.
I believe this is how the [gd_popular_post_view] used to work.
That would change it for everything. We do not want every page on the entire site to be sorted by date, we have featured and package-led listings that are listed first.
Hi Folks
So just to confirm, doing this will only affect the sort order on this one page, and not the sort order on the rest of the website ?
Many thanks
Scott
If you have 50 filters and no category selected then that could be very confusing to a user as it will show all 50 filters –
All filters will have a least 1 category selected, some filters will have multiple categories selected, and some of these categories may not even be related to an industry. Using CPTs for specific Industries will not work in this case, I don not see any other option as to the one I have given you, and as I mentioned this is being done on other directories so I am a little confused as to the push back on this.
Hi Stefan
Sorry but is is not an option, it will get very messy, we have around 85 categories, and having these as sub categories is not an option. We used two different directory components in the past, and both you were able to assign specific custom fields per category. The first one was through Joomla, and we moved to WordPress for obvious reasons, our live website we are using ListingPro and we moved to yours for performance. I am thinking long term and as i mentioned we have 11 filters now, moving to 20 plus soon, and i can see this going to 50 plus. Some listings will have the same filters but these are not related in any way to the main category or even sub category. We really need to be able to select these like in the screenshot i sent you.
Kind Regards
Scott
Hi Stiofan
Subcategories is probably a good idea and something we should look into but it unfortunately will not solve our issue. For example the category “Candles” as i mentioned, this is the only category where will have the filter Soy and we will be having many other filters only associated with 1 category.
I appreciate this will not be added into the next release 2.0.0.67 but we really need this added 2.0.0.68.
Kind Regards

Yes we have lots of filters that are Checkbox. As per above there are two issues.
1. If no listing is associated with the filter it shows. It should have a min of one listing associated with it. If you search a filter and it shows zero results this is a really bad user experience.
2. If a listing for example has a category “Candles” and this listing has for example “Free Returns” selected. If this is the only listing on our site that has free returns selected, the filter “Free Returns” should not show when i search for categories “Car Parts Accessories and Tyres”
We have 11 custom fields created so far that we are adding as filters, this is going to grow to much more over the next few months, so we cannot have 20 plus filters showing on every category if the filter has nothing to do with that category.
Many thanks

This is really poor support on your side, i am not looking for customization as you mentioned. I am looking for a basic feature for filters. A Directory with any filters what so ever should only show if
1. The listing that has a filter selected, the filter should only when that category is searched. Having categories showing a filter that has nothing to do with that category is a really bad user experience.
2. It has at least 1 listing associated with that category.
I cannot go live until this is fixed.
I will of course test the other fix on the next release you do.
Kind Regards
Scott
