Great – thanks for that!
In regards to displaying listings from a specific category – I’m not sure why the category list isn’t updating when I select my custom post type. E.g. for the ‘Accommodation’ post type, I have categories like: “Apartments”, “Hotels”, “Bed and breakfasts”, however they’re not shown in the drop down – see image. Any ideas?
October 14, 2018 at 12:00 pm in reply to: Getting the [gd_popular_post_view] shortcode working #449634Is that compatible with the divi theme? Because when I select ‘Use the Divi Builder’, that button you highlighted is not available.
Also – how do I modify the listings returned? E.g. I would like to return listings of specific post type and category.
Thanks!

I have that option selected, however the issue is that by default when a user comes to the website, no location has been selected yet so the listings are not location-specific (note that these widgets are on the home page).
Is there a way to feed this widget a location based on the user’s browser’s location or IP address?

October 1, 2018 at 2:14 am in reply to: Have places returned if either acronym or long form of location is searched #448302Okay so just to clarify: if I type a location and then select an autocompleted location – it does not send the location to Google, it merely queries the WPGD database for places in the selected location; whereas if I type a location and hit enter without selecting an autocompleted location, it sends it to Google who then returns places NEAR THE CENTRE OF the location entered.
Is that right?
September 30, 2018 at 8:38 am in reply to: Have places returned if either acronym or long form of location is searched #448250Okay that makes sense, however I’m still confused about this –
When I type “Canberra, A” into the search box, auto-complete returns 2 lines:
1) Canberra, ACT
2) Canberra, Australian Capital TerritoryI understand that these come from the database, however different places are returned.
On top of this, if I search for “Canberra, ACT” and just hit search without selecting an autocomplete location, a whole different set of places are returned.
Could you explain this?
