Hello,
The OSM geocoder seems to fall down if the post code is not entered with the correct format: https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org
I have added some special regex so that if it detects a post code it will auto add the space needed before geocode, i have added this patch to your site, it will be in the next release so no need to worry about updating.
Thanks for reporting.

Thanks for the info please check now.

September 3, 2018 at 6:18 pm in reply to: automatic city selection makes browsing the directory difficult #445185Hi Marc,
Let me explain more how it works so i can get your feedback.
In all cases (except the details page) the location is set from the info in the URL.
so if you are on page /location/united-states/pennsylvania/ then the location is a region called “pennsylvania” and all the archive links will point to that location and the location switcher and search bar will show “pennsylvania” also.Basically is uses the location info in the url and NOT a PHP Session or cookie or any other stored info, this is done so that no matter who visits the page the urls always point to the same place and it can be indexed correctly and cached correctly (unlike if the urls depended on a session)
Ok now that i have explained the above, we come to the “details” page, unlike all the other locations pages the details page is always linked to a city and never just to a region or country, however the url can be customised to show the location in any order and even remove the location completely, so we can’t reliably use the url for the archive links, so just now we set it to the city of the listing.
My proposed solution is two things:
1. an option to disable the filtering of the archive pages, so no matter where you are the archive page never has any location info in it (mostly used for small directories)
2. a option to set what part of the location from a listing is used for the archive page urls.
Please see the attached screenshot and give feedback.
Thanks,
Siofan

September 3, 2018 at 2:29 pm in reply to: conflict with wppopupmaker plugin, popup not loading on archive pages #445148Is it designed to work on an archive page? Though we use a page template this is just for the layout of the archive page, the actual popup code is not rendered in the footer so its like its being told its not supposed to be there. Or it could be its reading the wrong query.

Have you tried with another theme? The genesis theme seems to do things a bit different and is the theme i have been having most issues with.

September 3, 2018 at 2:04 pm in reply to: automatic city selection makes browsing the directory difficult #445144Hi Marc,
I’m currently working on how to implement settings for this.
The reason it defaults to city on the details page is that i don’t want to implement sessions and have pages loading with sometimes links to country, region or city, i want them always to be the same so any caching plugin will work and not cause problems..
For the details page i’m not sure if this should follow the url structure or have a seperate setting for this.
If you have suggestions feel free to share them.
Thanks,
Stiofan
Its on the list but its not a priority at the moment.

Hi Marc,
Any caching plugin should be compatible, we eventually plan to retire GDB as it was specifically built to be compatible with GDv1 but now GDv2 should not need any special features.
Use what you want and if you have any problems just let us know.
Thanks,
Stiofan
There was a bug with the deletion of the featured image, i have fixed this now and it will be in the next release.

September 3, 2018 at 11:19 am in reply to: Label error: Editing a place – Title should be Edit Place, not Add Place #445098If Yoast is installed then we let it deal with titles and metas but there is an option to disable it, if i do this then it used the GD system and it works. Please check.

Linking does not mean it shares the address, linking can mean many things, it could be a DR working at many hospitals.

Hi Glenn,
As it stands now most things are release in beta, and these will come out of beta once all reported bugs are resolved, this is not something we can put an exact time frame on but should be around 2 weeks after initial beta releases.
Out of the remaining “big” addons still to be released:
Events: Will be this week
Payments manager: hopefully the following week if not the next one.
Claim listings: this will be focused on once payments is released, and should take about 1 week.By the end of this month everything for v2 should be released and most should be out of beta.
Thanks,
Stiofan
Thanks for spotting this has been fixed and will be in the next release.
