Moving the map pin will only change the street address if it has not previous been entered.
The “Set address on map” button is for when a user knows the address but does not know the map location or maybe wants to move the map to the general place before setting the exact position.

It should still work on shared hosting, but you are right a minimum VPS is recommended, i am not sure of the best providers in your area though sorry.

Try using FTP to overwrite WP (not wp-config.php) files that are missing or corrupt.
