Hey Paolo.
I saw your reply to the above question. Needless to say it’s not what I was hoping for. 🙁
Question now: can the current search widget on the home page be replaced with
a) the location switcher and
b) a functioning “near me” button? The current search does not really do any good. The “shop name” field provides terrible results … and the “city or state” does NOT work when a zip is being searched … apart from the before mentioned major result display issues.
Cheers,
Martin
Question (bugs me since you made the site work): typing a state name in the search field (and picking the suggested “state (region)” leads to the result page … where only 5 shops show on the map. Why is the cluster function not working for those searches? Users are forced to to scroll down and hit “next” to get another 5 listings showing. Given that the state of Missouri has almost 4k listings … you can imagine the frustration. Regarding ease of search that’s a major negative. Did I miss a setting or is this behavior not coded/considered at all? A WORKING cluster function in searches would also allow to stay on the search result page when zooming out. Currently you can zoom out as much as you want … but the search result map keeps showing the 5 locations only. Interestingly enough the location switcher (while not a real search tool) does show the clustered results. Having this in a regular state/city SEARCH should be a must IMHO. 🙂
