thanks for fast follow-up

I figured it might be a bit much.

how about using checkboxes for selecting categories/subcategories when adding a listing and/or similar to how they can be displayed with widget GD > CPT Listings

I’m going to have a lot of categories and the dropdown isn’t practical

sorry for so many posts here.. but…

looks like there might be an issue with my Cron that triggers this – or something else on MY system. If I add a Custom Field, with Advanced Sort and Filter options and get the error message – and REFRESH then the error goes away.

    so… no bug I guess.

well… there might be a bug but surprised not reported elsewhere

if I add custom field as checkbox

fill out all the typical fields and selections and check Advanced Sort and Filter options – I get the too many columns alert.

however if I save everything Before checking the sort and filters it is okay, and I can go back and check them and it saves okay the second time

FYI – I think the columns alert happens when custom fields are added to advanced search and then edited in custom fields Advanced Sort and Options fields

when the custom field as checkbox is selected the system adds the ‘default value’ field – and it DOES allow a value there.

It must have been some sequence of entering and editing things that prompted the flag before

don’t think it is really a bug, rather just how things get processed

it is not theme dependent – you’ll see it probably on any site that has event calendar

Events Calendar

that is from a showcase site http://www.visitmidlothian.org.uk/events/?etype=all

    or

2CV Events Calendar

    http://www.2cv.com.au/

you can see the htag wrapping by adding event calendar widget to sidebar, add a title, and then doing a view source for the title you give it

    geodir is adding the
the theme normally controls the h-tag for the title depending on where it is (sidebar, entry etc)

so.. you don’t actually need to visit my site to confirm it

do I need to set search radius to 1000 miles to get results for a state?

If you enter California, you will get listings somewhere in the Sierra National Forest.

I enter North Dakota (a state similar to California only colder, smaller and less cool) and get no results even though there are listings for places in North Dakota

I have a few dummy data listings using Rugby, North Dakota address

when I enter only ‘Rugby’ I get no results,
if I enter only ‘North Dakota’ I get no results … the how GD works page says it should give me results but it doesn’t

if I enter Rugby, North Dakota I do get results – so the city and the region locations exist

with autocompleter enabled you have to click the autocompleter link – not the end of the world but it is clunky and takes some time

the question is — my search is not functioning as it is explained https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-design/#how

is there a multilocations setting or something?

    thanks

    thanks

    another ‘quick question’

in the ‘near’ field, if I enter City AND Region (ie. Rugby, North Dakota) it gives me results.

if I enter just the city Rugby – no results, if I enter the region North Dakota – no results

with Search Autocompleter enabled it will find these locations but requires clicking the autocomplete link and it takes some time to get results (even without the thousands of locations I’m going to be adding)

am I missing a setting somewhere that will get it to recognize the Text entry of the city OR region?

    thanks

also where can we edit the fields (instead of ‘near’ I’d like to say something like zipcode or city)

    thanks

    thanks, but…

is there a way to force the ‘customize my search button’ to be default open? and to hide the button?
