OK Paulo, so are you saying that the “HTML variable name” for each field is what should be used but preceeded with geodir_ eg: see attached image = geodir_phone2
Once again, thanks …. we’ll continue using our own meta widget.
Thanks chaps, I’ve got someone looking at the code for the search widget. I’ll let you know if we find a solution as I’ve seen a few people on here who want to make the look and feel more specific.
Thanks for the above, I was just about to ask the same question.
If I use my existing Meta widget does that then mean that anyone from my existing User list could add a listing to the directory or do I have to assign directory users with a “Role” in my user panel?
I’ve just found out that I need to export my data in order to know the exact “field” names as I’ve customised the categories and field so much that it bears no resemblence to your example CSV. For example I’ve changed the contact field to Phone and added a new one for Mobile (sic: Cell). Does this mean I now have input fields called geodir_mobile …. or is my Phone field still called geodir_contact ?
I’m ready to load 740 entries and cannot go back and edit them individually if the fields load in the wrong place.
Guust, we have got the “customize you search” working but it is big (taking up too much vertical space when opened and we also don’t want the basic search boxes (or at least want to re-name things. “customize you search” is too American as this is purely a UK site and we would also like to make the heading more specific like our general WP meta login. Ultimately we want to have one single login for the site which will give people access to GD as well as our other ‘subscriber’ services (forums etc.)
I’ll follow this up with Stiofan as suggested.
Thanks guys, now works. We used this as an opportunity to clear out various plugins and update the WP version and now works. May be an idea to let people know the minimum WP version we can use with GD.
This reply has been marked as private.As with the others above, I have no need for PLACES on the search bar. I tried the re-naming work around a few days ago but that didn’t seem to change the search bar.
Do you know when this option will be finished/released .. I was looking to start taking my new geodirectory to market at the start of November.
