If it’s not GD, then don’t worry. I’ll go back to the helpful people at 123… 🙁
I don’t want to disable GD. Will check with the host
Thanks for checking. I trust you guys!

    Hi,
    Thanks for looking into this.
Yes, the site loads fine, but whenever I try to upload anything or update anything, I get this error. My users are experiencing the same thing

Ok I’ve done that. All updated to 5.6.
The issue is still there though. The links on the homepage don’t work, and now when I try and submit a new listing, I get the attached error (which is, ironically, the one I had right at the start of all of this!)

Ok thank you. I’m not sure how I would go about updating versions of PHP. Do you have any guidance?

Ok, I’ve discovered what was wrong. The guy at 123-reg was being a total idiot. I’m sure I’m not wholly unblameable for this, but I’m just going to blame him anyway

But now the links to events on my homepage don’t work. Might you be able to help with that? When I try and submit a new event listing, I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method DateTime::createFromFormat() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/bo/ok/as/bookastall.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodir_event_manager/gdevents_functions.php on line 156

    I’m totally lost.
You told me that I was running an old version of Whoop. So I went to the downloads section (as you suggested) and went through all the documentation to make sure I added it correctly. I then get an error when I try and upload it. When I look at the FTP files, there’s not even a Whoop file there. I tried to add it there, and it won’t upload. I upload it, it says “upload complete” but then it’s not there.

When I go back and try and add it in like it tells me to in the documentation, I get the attached error message

I’ve just gone in and Whoop isn’t there at all. And I can’t even add it because of an “unexpected error”.
I’ve tried to upload the file to the FTP and it uploads, and then I can’t find it in the themes section.

I realise I must be doing something super dumb here, but I can’t figure it out! I’m going round in circles

Ok I’ve just done that. My site now looks really weird. Do I now have to go in and update all the settings to get it back to how it was? There’s no logos or menus, and lots of black..

Ok panic over. I fixed it myself.
In Settings > Reading the front page had been changed from “GD Homepage” to “Homepage”
(in case anyone else has the same issue)
