    Hi Guys,

I am about to upgrade my site to the the latest site and then apply all my custom changes.

Is it safe to download plugins, extract and FTP up (including my changes)or is there any reliance on WordPress Upgrade functionality to do this… i.e. are there database scripts to be ran in the background.

I can not find an answer to this on the forums.

    Thanks a mil,

    Adrian

latest plugins/addons have different database structure. You can either upload the new ones via ftp or use the wordpress upgrade system, but once you do that remember to use the GD TOOL and run the Multisite db check (it will also fix/upgrade the database structure).

    Hi,

if your mods are made in the plugin’s files, you can only use FTP.

After you upadted core and all addons, you can run the GD Tools.

“are there database scripts to be ran in the background”

    Yes

    Thanks Paolo,

I have upgraded using the WP upgrade paths… so I will roll my code changes in now and hope all will function! There are a few issues to be ironed out

    Thanks,

    Adrian
