Geo D ticks almost all my boxes for a directory, the one facility that I would like, and seems a fairly natural extension of the functionality, would be an advertising listings element. Classified sales, jobs, property, vehicles etc.
I wonder if anybody has found a way to make this fit the existing structure, built their own adaptation they would consider licencing (if that is allowed), or even if anything along those lines is in development as a 3rd party add-on?

Quite a few users do that by adding an extra custom post type and adding custom fields to suit.
Listings can be for anything, up to you to set the names and fields for the jobs classifieds etc.
