Can you add custom fields to the shortcode builder? So can can eg show all listings where custom_checkbox_field = value?

    Hi Nick,

I’m not exactly sure what u mean, this to me sounds like an advanced search option you would add to show all listings with a specific custom field value?

Yes I guess so. The shortcode builder in v2 is so great, and it would be supremely enhanced by this functionality. If so once can use it to build complex pages. Without it, I think i’m right in saying that we need a whole php template, right?

I still really have no idea what exactly you mean, you could mean many different things, please explain more what you want to achieve and i can tell you if it can be done or not.

    Thanks,

    I have a place type.
It has a custom field of type ‘checkbox’ called “animals”.
The “animals” checkbox has four options: cats, dogs, fish, monkeys.

I’d like to show a paginated grid of places where “animals” = “monkeys”.

Right now I don’t much care if it’s shortcode or php, I’d just like to know how to do it.

Long term, I’d love it to be a shortcode option.

    Is that clearer?

You can do that with tags and categories, but not with custom fields.

    Thanks

So is there NO WAY to do it? Or we must use a custom query?

    I already answered that.

You can do that with tags and categories, but not with custom fields.

If you want to do it by custom field (which we only use as advance search parameters) it will require a customization.

    Thank you
