    I want to add a text block to the listings page – intro blurb along the lines of “We have <NUMBER OF MATCHED ENTRIES> businesses in <LOCATION NAME>.”

    What is the best way to pull in those two variables?

    Happy to add the block either into the template or through a widget, just don’t know how to get those data items.

    Hello,

    can you say a bit more about that? I think I get the location name part. What is the number? The post type count? Category?

    Where do you want to display it? Detail page? Every page?

    OK,

    I appreciate your spelling out the details of it.

    I discussed this with the developers and this is a customization for V1 as it cannot be fixed up with a small bit of code.

    If you want to proceed with it on your own then you can take a look at the Category Top description, that seems the most likely place for a replacement tag like this to be applied, alongside %location%.

    Category Top description already allows individual content to be stored for each category+location.
