    Events.WhatsHappeningTonight.com.

Several observations. Places > settings > untick check box to deactivate “places.”

on events.whatshappeningtonight.com the places tab still displays.

Next, when clicking on “side bar” evens link (sidebar right) it goes to no events found.. there we have text “add listing” and when clicking on add listing link a “Add Places” form is displayed.

I have attached two images. The first one is the page directed to after clicking on “events” in the homepage side bar right.

The second one is the page I was directed to “add places”?

    Regards,

There is not a way to ‘deactivate’ a CPT except to delete it.

DO you mean ‘Disable frontend add” which means users cannot add it from the frontend? That will not remove it from other places on the site, that setting only makes it impossible for normal users to add a listing because they cannot see the form.

We will check on the search text and let you know.

I tested this and if places is disabled from frontend add then the search error text will switch to another cpt.
If that is not what you are seeing you can share WP Admin and we can check on it.

I will send you the admin login creds soon.
Please note, I am unavailable m-thurdays as I manage an insurance brokerage and put in some 12hrs per day there. Friday – Sundays are web day. I do appreciate your responses. I can get up extra early during critical situations or double back as I am doing now.
The problem is that I cannot add events. Thank you.

    Hello,

The setting to disable frontend add is at

Events – setting – general (tab) – Show advanced – Disable frontend add – UNCHECKED

Is that what you are after?

GD Map has the option to choose the first/default post type

If map is used via widget then you can choose post type from list.
If map is used via shortcode then you can choose post type by parameter post_type=”gd_place” in [gd_map] shortcode.
