When we add a “Place”.. we first input the zip code.. and then the city/state drop downs are automatically populated, but the list is incomplete, and all the cities are not listed for some reason. How can we get a complete city list.. so that the correct city shows up?

    Hi,

the list shows only 5 locations for quick reference, but the search form should be the main tool to pick up a city or a region.

    Thx

Ok, what we are noticing.. is if we add a location in the multi-locations/add/edit location.. then it’s not showing up in the city/region dropdown.. then it assigns some other address.

what search tool are you talking about?

Would you please provide a link and an example explaining step by step how to reproduce the problem. I’m not sure I’m understanding the issue.

The search field I’m talking about is above each locatoin list in every dropdown.

    Let us know,

    Thx

Paolo, while you having a look at this problem, can you include this topic as well. It might be related.

    Hi Sam,

ok I just watched the video.

I think you should use the “Google address autocomplete” (last option down at the bottom in multilocations settings).

In any case, you don’t need to add the location in advance.

    Example on our demo :

    1) I’m adding the listing you used as exmaple. The location Bloomington IN is not in our database already.

    2) I copy the address in the address field.

    3) I select the right result from the suggested results.

    4) City, region, zip, lat and long are automatically selected

    5) Submit listing and both the new location and the listing are now in your database.

    See image attached.

Looking at your Multilocation list, I see that you have several “fake locations” that you should remove. Things like : all, all, florida, will confuser the system.

The list in both region and city select, is a shortlist (doesn’t inlcude all regions and city) and should present the most used. Not having much use now, they show quite randomly.

Above the list though, there is a search filed that will allow to pull up any location entered in your database. If you type in a location that is not already in your database (even without using the autocompleter) it will be added to your location database as well.

    Hope it’s clearer now.

You: I think you should use the “Google address autocomplete” (last option down at the bottom in multilocations settings).
    Me: I don’t see that option? http://screencast.com/t/4DRrOjvLd

Me: This does not work for us. Also.. our database is incomplete.. how can we get a complete database? Cause only 7 states show up.

You: Example on our demo :
Me: It doesn’t work the same for us. How come?

You need to update all GD plugins to make sure you got all the fixes.
That will change your whole multilocation experience.

Q: what version of multilocation you have installed?
    A: 4.0

A: The last time we did this, the whole site, crashed… any full proof way to keep it from crashing? Or do you offer any upgrade support?

Current multilocation v Version is 1.1.2. I think you are confusing the worpdress version you are using.

Update should be seamless. The problem you experienced before were releated to an old version of multilocation, that solved once, shouldn’t reappear.

Obviously we offer update support. If anything goes wrong just drop a line and we will have a look.

    Thx

A: 1.1.5 for Geodirectory that has multilocations in it.

How can I find the version of multilocation by itself?

    pls see image attached.

I suggest to go through some wordpress basic documentation (or video) to have a minimal knowledge about the CMS that uses our plugin.

    Thx
