Advance Filtering on Listings Sidebar

1) On the listings sidebar I would like to have an option to filter options instead of choosing one or the other option. Ex: right now a user could A) select May 29th on the event calendar and you could see events taking place that day or B) You could select a “category” and it will display events with that specific category. My question: Is there a way to have it show you events that are A) on May 29th “AND” a specific category. Right now it seems that you could only choose one things or another instead of having an advanced filter option

2) When you click on “Customize Your Search” it give you the following options “Date From”, “Category” & “Venue”. Is there a way to get these options without having it hidden in the “Customize Your Search” box? (Standalone / Separate)
