I have obviously a setting wrong somewhere but cannot find it.

My website is at https://goodlocally.com/ and I have a blank front page set called “Independently Rated and Local – Places, Services and Businesses”. It loads but not as a blank page, instead with the geodirectory map below it. It then reloads and bounces forward to the Geodirectory page “Location” which it then attempts to endlessly reload without success, approximately every five seconds. The location it is attempting to load is Shrewsbury, which was indeed my original default location before I added the multilocations plugin but which is not where I am.

This behaviour seems to be the case with all pages on the site including Geodirectory listings and 404 pages and is common across all browsers and devices.

What I’m looking for is to be able to create my own homepage using my theme (Kleo) and then have Geodirectory loaded through a menu item. I obviously need other pages to load without an automatic redirect to “Location”. I would also like Geodirectory to know where I am (I have permitted sharing location information on my devices).

I’m sure there is a simple setting somewhere but I seem unable to find it. I am able to give back office access if you require it.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi,

at the moment you don’t have a blank page set as home page, but the GD Home page.

Just make sure that the page you set as home in wp settings >> reading, isn’t also selected as GD Home in GD >> Permalinks.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#home

It is redirecting you to a location page, because you are being GeoLocated automatically (you must have authorized the browser to share your location for all visits). You’ll need to clear your browser geolocation settings to fix that. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-can-i-clear-geo-location-settings/

In GD > Advance Search you can enable an extra option to : “Ask user if they wish to be geolocated”.

Let us know how it goes,

    Thanks
