Hello: I do not want the map and directory to be on the home page of my existing website. How do I change this to be on another page?

    Hi Randi,

the update that we will release tomorrow will make this much easier.

I hope this can wait till than, in this case we would provide you an example on how to do that easily.

    Thanks,

    Paolo

    Isn’t that standard already?
Go to GD > design > home tab > untick Geodirectory home page
Then go to Settings > reading > and choose a static “front page”.

    Yes Guust,

than after having done what you explained you can use the /location/ page as directory home and change its name in the permalink settings if you need to do so.

This is how it works now, I’m not sure though it is the best solution and tomorrow we may come up with something different.

    Thx

Hi: I have tried options above and I have access to the places page (I changed the URL) http://3181connect.com/place/ but the bread crumb “home” link takes me to the home page, a different static page therefore I can’t access the map?

@paolo Any updates on the update?

The breadcrumb is referred to the website, not the directory, so it is correct.

If what you did is correct, you can add the map and any other widget like the search widget to the GD home top section like in the image attached.

I’ve noticed that you are adding the plugin directly into a live site, where another similar plugin is active: wp-listings?

I’d highly recommend to avoid a similar practice. 2 plugins dealing with similar features can cause conflicts. If I were in you, I’d test the new plugin on a development website to make sure everything works as expected, than move the development site into production once ready.

    Thanks
