Author Can't Edit Listing

    I’ve created/published listings (places) on my site. I’ve started to give the actual business owners who registered as members on our site control of these listings by making them the author of the listing in WordPress.

    However, when they go to edit their listing, none of the data shows up on the edit page. It just shows all blank fields as if they are re-submitting their listing. How can I fix this?

    For example, one of our registered members reaches out to me and says their business was listed in our geodirectory and they’d like access to the listing to edit. I then go into wordpress and upgrade them to “author”. I go to the place, I assign the new user as the author. The listing then shows up in their Profile on our site and under their listings, and they have the option to click edit to edit the listing. However, once they get to the edit page, all the fields are blank and they essentially have to start over. How can I make sure the data from the actual listing carries over so it can be edited?

    Hi,

    if you try to edit them as admin from the front end the data in the fields are visible?

    If you provide a link and admin credentials we will have a look.

    hi,

    next step would be to disable all non GD Plugins momentarily to see if one of them is creating the conflict.

    Let us know if you want us to do it or if you prefer to proceed and report the result of the test.

    Thanks for the info, the problem was that you had the add listing page set under GD>Permalinks but also on that page you had the shortcode which caused the problem, i removed the shortcode and it now works.

    Only staff can see private replies, now that we have fixed the issue i would suggest changing passwords if you are worried.
