We have 8 people doing data entry and 2 QC reps. The QC reps are going through and correcting errors made by the data entry crew.

Other than giving a user Admin rights to the entire site to the QC reps, is there an editor role that will allow an assigned user to edit any listing on the system even if they don’t own or claim it?

In a perfect world I’d prefer not to give God level access to the entire framework when using data-entry personnel.

    Thanks,
    John

    Hi,

If “Allow user to see wp-admin area” is set to yes in : GeoDirectory >> General

users with the editor role are allowed to edit any listings.

    Thanks

OK, but they can not edit via the front-end editor right?

    Hi,

The author/editor/owner of the listing , or the general super-admin can edit the front-end. If you want, you can manage and change this with a 3th party user-role plugin.

    Hi Paolo,

I mean you can change the roles. Am I wrong?

    Hi Frank,

my answer was for the topic author.

I don’t think your solution is what he’s looking for. The only way to have someone edit listings from the front end without being the author is to make them admin.

You don’t need a plugin for that.

    Thanks

Perhaps there’s a hook or piece of code to adjust if access_level > x rather than ==10 to allow for other levels to have more control??

Just need to know which file contains the control. Any hints?

I don’t think there is a hook for that. .

Why not giving them Editor role and access to wp admin? We are talking about data entry…

It shouldn’t require that you modify anything.

    Thanks

I’ve been having some sucess with this plugin: http://presspermit.com/press-permit-overview/
It will allow you to grant editing capabilities for any custom post type to multiple users (by user ID’s or by standard/custom roles).
At first it was “breaking” my post preview page for non-admins, but after messing with the settings everything works great so far.
