    Hi,

Since the last avada theme update today I’ve got a blanc website when using the child theme (with suggested changes: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/avada-compatibility-header-php/)

The avada changelog reports: “added: compatibility for Geo Directory plugin.” (http://theme-fusion.com/avada-documentation/changelog.txt). Does this mean that the suggested changes are no longer needed within a child theme? Or does this cause the error? Any suggestions on how to fix this?

It seems like this is an compatibility error but I’m not really sure.

    Thanks,

    Matthijs

    Hi,

I would try to rename header.php to header.php.old in your child theme to see if they finally added the necessary hook.

But I don’t see a blank page when visiting your website.

    Let su know,

    Thanks

I switched back to the normal Avada theme, so you’ve probably seen that. I’m now getting this error when using my child theme:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function avada_header_template() in /var/www/vhosts/40/170740/webspace/siteapps/WordPress-187897/htdocs/wp-content/themes/Avada-Child-Theme/header.php on line 1420

Further more, I don’t really know how to switch back to header.php.old, can you help me with that? (I’m learning more and more about building websites but unfortunately it goes slowly 🙂 )

    Thanks

Thanks, i have made the changes to your site, and i renamed the header.php in your child theme to header.php.bak

For anyone else having this problem before the release of GD 1.4.4, you have replae this file in the GD plugin https://github.com/GeoDirectory/geodirectory/blob/master/geodirectory-functions/compatibility/Avada.php
and then remove the header.php from your child theme.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Thanks for the update, Would it be OK if we just waited for the update?

Any approx time table for that release?

tomorrow we will release the update, but solving this is so easy I have a hard time believing you would rather wait.

There is just one file to be removed (header.php) and one to be replaced (geodirectory-functions/compatibility/Avada.php).

    Thanks
