To all membees interested, Buddypress addon is 75% done.
Please see image attached for Settings page and demo here: http://dropct.com/enfold/members/posh-john/reviews/events/
We are missing few details. The reviews part in the member profile is still incomplete, so please keep that in mind.
In the listings part, when one will visit his own profile it will have edit and delete buttons for all listings he submitted. This is also missing now.
Tracking of both comments and new listing submission should already be working fine.
Registration on that website is enabled so feel free to create a user, give it a try and report anything wrong you encounter.
Thank you!
January 13, 2015 at 12:19 pm #273381. On http://dropct.com/enfold/members/posh-john/reviews/events/
John’s first review links to the listing, but the second link links to the current page.2. Not a bug but the GD login does not redirect to the BuddyPress registration page.
3. When I click on Reviews when viewing a member page like http://dropct.com/enfold/members/guust/, I get all reviews, not of that member I am looking at.
4. Is this page supposed to have a link to favorites as well?
http://dropct.com/enfold/members/guust/listings/
Because the favorites at http://dropct.com/enfold/members/guust/ are favorites of bbpress are they not? But there does not seem to be a forum?5. How come John has commented, but he is not a member?
http://dropct.com/enfold/members/The other 75% is fine 🙂
January 20, 2015 at 9:53 pm #28204Will there be any plans to allow buddypress members to enter their location in their profile and then allow admins to display a list of members on a map?
January 20, 2015 at 10:22 pm #28206@ friendly fire
If you create a custom post type for “members” they can add their details there, and the listing will be linked from their profile. So that is kind of possible as planned.I guess what you are asking is to create a custom field for buddypress where a member can add their location?
There is a plugin for that:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-user-profile-map/
I might create a conflict with GD if both maps are called on the same page. Here is an example of that plugin:
http://www.2cv.com.au/members/john/January 20, 2015 at 10:40 pm #28210Yes, I’m currently using geomywp for this but I was hoping to one day show one map with all members, listings and posts one day.
If I use the plugin to get a geo coordinate, could I then somehow use geodirectory to display these? if so, how?
January 20, 2015 at 11:33 pm #28217Very cool, looking forward to this!
January 21, 2015 at 10:21 pm #28400Greetings! I was wondering if you guys have an estimated date for release of the Buddypress addon? It’s very exciting and I am very happy with geodirectory.
thank you!January 26, 2015 at 1:38 pm #28826Do you recommend we go ahead and install Buddypress and use it best as can, or wait for add-on extension?
January 26, 2015 at 2:26 pm #28829You can already use BuddyPress and GD together without any problems, but the BuddyPress activity will not show listings and favorites and comments.
I guess the addon merges the GD author page and the Buddypress activity page, and uses BuddyPress as the registration and login system.February 3, 2015 at 9:41 pm #29828February 3, 2015 at 9:43 pm #29830Making the map show the members’ locations sholdn’t be impossible, but it’s not part of current plans.
You can request here https://wpgeodirectory.com/requests/ and if many other will vote for it, we will be glad to look into it.
Thanks
