Buddypress vs Userswp

Is it safe to assume that these two plugins won’t play nice together?
Just installed buddypress and encountering a few issues, then i realized that userswp is very similar.

What are the main differences?

One difference I see is buddypress supports groups whereas i don’t thinks userswp does, which is what i need.
