So I have a custom field for our businesses to upload their company logo. It is set to display on the “listings” page along with the images. I have a few questions regarding this:

    1) The logo when clicked opens the file, is there a way to set it to link directly to the listing’s detail page as opposed to opening the logo file?

    2) Is it possible to move the logo above the images on the listings page so that it displays first?

    3) If a company creates an event can the logo then be pulled to show on the event listing?

On another note we are running a site for the performing arts & are providing information on nearby restaurants & parking. I’d love to have a list of nearby restaurants & parking on each venue’s details page but my problem is we NEED the upcoming events to be displayed as well. So I can’t “link” the Restaurants & Parking to the venues page. Would a solution to this be to utilize the “related listings” (tags not categories) and list the restaurants/parking, even though they are separate CPTS? To simplify: will the related listings pull tags from other CPTS to display or are they only pulling from the same CPT it is associated with?

    Hi,

I’m sorry, but none of those things are possible without customizing the code.

CPTs cannot share tags because they each use a custom taxonomy.

    Thanks

Given that linking to uploaded files effects SEO is there a way to just turn off the link on the uploaded logo file?

    What do you mean by:

linking to uploaded file effects SEO?

    Never heard of such thing.

That’s what one of my developers was explaining to me.

Regardless of the SEO it is still quite distracting that if an image is clicked in Geodirectory listings it opens a new window with the linked file. As I’ve said before we are using this mostly for mobile so it will ultimately cause a lot of user frustration when accidentally clicking on an image and it opens a new window.

I’m not sure if the lightbox is broken somehow or what the issue is but having this fixed would be extremely helpful to our user experience.

I’d rather not ask our clients to upload their Logo in two places as you’ve suggested before with adding it to the image gallery. I suppose I can hire someone more experienced to fix this issue.

    Thanks for the help.

I tested and it should open it in lightbox.

If it doesn’t open in a lightbox there must be a conflict and we should try to fix it.

Please provide a link and admin credentials and we’ll check.
