I’m using GeoDirectory to create a business directory in which all listings are paid and there are no free listings. I don’t want people to be able to post information unless they are subscribers.

I will be doing the initial setup of the profile pages and would like to be able to assign a user login to the business so that they can make updates on their own. I would email them the credentials.

I loaded up the listing claims plugin and the paid listing plugin and that partly solves the problem. With listing claims, the business owner could then click on the claim listing option and take ownership of their profile.

However, I’d rather keep control and email them their credentials rather than ask them to click on the business owner option. I would like to create users and assign them to be able to control whatever place (business profile) that I select.

Is there a way to do that?

The easiest would be to register a new user from the frontend and then submit a listing as that user.
But that will send notifications to that user.
You can create users in the backend and set their role to author. Then create a listing in the backend and assign the listing to the user somewhere near the bottom of the page.
You may want to go back to users and change their role from author to subscriber.
