Can I dynamically create the post title?

    I have a CPT for people. Ideally the post title would be their name, but I also want to be able to sort people by last name. I have added custom fields for First Name and Last Name, but then the post name is only created from the last name. Is there a way I can specify that the post title is made up of the First Name and the Last Name fields?

    Hi Terri Tutich,

    Thanks for your post. You can manually display “Custom Fields” on your “Details Page Template” using the “Post Meta” Shortcode/Widget. Could you give it a try and see if helps?

    It’s not a matter of displaying the First Name and Last Name – I know how to do that part. The Post Title, which becomes part of the permalink, isn’t working out the way I need it to.

    Hi Terri,

    the Post Title is what the user enters in the title field. The plugin only takes the information, it doesn’t do anything else with it.

    There could be 2 solutions:

    hide the title field with CSS and use jQuery to fetch whatever users are entering in the First and Last name fields. (this is customization)

    Or you give instructions to your users to enter the title a certain way.
