    I recently upgraded from V1 to V2.

I notice when I add a listing now, it only seems to be giving me the option of putting the listing into a single category. I used to be able to add several categories.

Has this changed? Or am I doing something wrong?

Similarly, I went to edit an existing business entry that I thought was mis-categorized, but the admin panel only allowed me to choose 1 category. The listing was already in 3 categories, and I didn’t want to change it and undo those category selections, so I left it alone for now.

Did you possibly change the category custom field to SELECT instead of MULTISELECT?

Did you possibly limit the number of allowed categories in a price package?

    Let us know. Thanks

Okay – I found the setting you referred to under:

Businesses -> Settings -> Custom Fields -> Category -> Show Advanced -> Category Display Type

    It was set to “Select”

I changed the setting to “Checkboxes” and now I have a list of all the categories and subcategories that I can choose from. Now I can choose more than one; and also I think this is a much better interface.

As to how it happened, I don’t think I changed the Category Display Type setting, unless it was something that came up during the migration process. Is it possibly a migration bug?

Thanks for helping me fix it.

Migration should not change any settings of your custom fields, so not sure why it happened.
    Thanks

The same thing happened to our site. Simply upgrading from v1 to v2 made the category field a ‘SELECT’. I used your instructions above to fix the problem. Thanks!

I’ll get the developers to check this out, thanks for reporting.
