Can’t change the default homepage

    I’m trying to change the homepage to a page without the map and search sections and every time I do GeoDirectory overrides it and it’s annoying!

    I’ve tried deseletecing the page in the settings and it changes nothing.

    I’m trying to add text to the home page but it causes the whole page to stretch out and the CSS goes crazy. I have tried deactivating plugins to see why this is, but it’s the GD plugin itself.

    This is super annoying that it keeps overriding the homepage.

    Please select a different homepage at WP Settings > Reading as explained here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#home

    And at GD > Permalinks > select the Location page for the Directory start page.

    Without knowing what theme you are using or seeing the site, that is all I can suggest.

    I’m using Kleo, the theme that came with your plugin.

    We would like to not have the map on our homepage, we would rather have it on a different page.

    Is it possible to remove the map from the homepage and place it elsewhere with shortcodes?

    Also, how do I allow for the theme to search by tags?

    PLease review https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#home
    Use a WP page for your homepage at WP Settings > Reading
    And at GD > Permalinks > select the Location page for the Directory start page.

    Also review https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/#directory so better understand the GD pages.

    Our plugin does not include Kleo, but you can use them together.

    GD searches tags by default, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/searching-and-browsing/#search

    Okay, so you made the GD start page /location/ which is causing anyone who clicks on the logo to return home to just sit on the /location/ page and not actually go back to the homepage, this is getting annoying.

    The street address is a required field, but users can add anything they like, for example “My Online Business”.
    Or you can create a CPT that does not require addresses at all.

    That’s what I thought, I’m just not going to make it a required field. If I make your user an admin can you help us get rid of the map on the homepage of our main site?

    I think you misunderstood me. The street address is a required field and you should not make the complete address requirement optional.
    But you can create an additional CPT that doesn’t require as addresses for any listing in that CPT.
