Can't install Dummy Data

    Recently installed GD plugin as per your ‘GD Basic Installation’ page. Am trying it out in localhost using WAMP Server 2.2. Everything went well except I can’t install ‘Dummy Data’ or ‘Event Dummy Data’. The ajax counter displays the progress but doesn’t tell me when it’s done. There are no dummy listings in either the ‘Places’ or ‘Events’ Dashboard or the website. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Is anyone else having this problem?

    Hi,

    It seems that your are doing everything right. Images for dummy data are not attached with plugin to keep plugin size manageable, those are located on a remote server so if u have slow internet connection then it might take several minutes to move images from a remote server to ur local. Please have patience while importing dummy data.

    Tried as you suggested but still doesn’t install dummy data. My internet speed is not slow but waited about 20 minutes anyway. I turned off all my security software also, but still nothing was imported. Anything else I could try?

    Hi,

    Here you go.
    Please download dummy images from here https://wpgeodirectory.com/dummy.zip
    Extract it and place dummy folder in your plugin folder geodirectory/geodirectory-admin/

    Try to install dummy data again.

    Did as you suggested and placed dummy folder in plugin folder, but unfortunately listing data still doesn’t install. After attempting to install dummy data the ajax counter displays the progress showing all the data being imported, then immediately returns to the ‘ How many sample data you would like to populate on your site? Insert sample data please’ box.
    Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help.

    To look into it further for u , u have to install your directory on a real domain and plz provide me ur site url and ftp access.

    Thanks Vikas. I think when I put it on a real domain the problem will go away. Everything else with the plugin seems to work well, so I’ll put in some of my own dummy data and play around with it for a bit before I put it online. If I still have problems at that time, I’ll provide you with my site url and ftp access. So I think we can close this thread for now. Thanks for your help.

    Btw, do you have link to events dummy data as well? I try to install event dummy data directly from the plugin, but it is not working.

    extract these and put dummy folder in your plugin folder/ geodir_event_manager/gdevents-admin
