Can't see Claim Listing due to existing Side Bar

Hi,
I’m just building at the moment and haven’t got a huge amount of WP experience. I’m using WP most recent and GD v2.

I have an existing sidebar displaying popular posts but when I view a Places detail page I can’t get the sidebar to show Claim Listing or any other widgets. I’ve tried putting the Distance to Post and Post Claim widgets in the Wall Sidebar and setting that as the sidebar on the GD details template page but the existing sidebar still persists.

I think it’s to do with widgets but maybe I’m tackling this the wrong way.
