Categories Prefix

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    The Yoast plugin has an option to remove the category prefix from the url. This worked fine on V1, however whilst testing V2 in my staging environment I noticed that the category prefix is now appearing in the url regardless.

    So for example, on V1 the link would be “mysite.co/place/shops/” but it is now “mysite.co/place/category/shops/”

    Please advise if this can be fixed. I don’t really want it in the url and will also have to look at redirects too.

    Category base is required and we don’t provide support for removing it.

    We do have a developer feature for archive URL redirects under

    GD – Settings – General – Developer (subtab) – Enable 404 rescue

    You can change the prefix to anything u want under the WP Permalink settings. By keeping the slug we use the default WP setup which removes the need for extra checks and queries to find the right page type.
