Category Icon on Details page

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    This category icon is a briefcase. I thought if I changed the category icon by editing the category (see image) it would change but it does not. How may I change this icon circled in the image?

    And what is the category color for? Does that apply to anything GD related?

    To change the icon circled in the image: Places > Settings > Custom Fields > Categories > edit the icon.
