Hello, I am using Geodirectory for a client’s website running on the theme Mural and ran into a minor but persistent problem. When I go to the category listings page, the page header doesn’t say the name of the category, but the name of the first place/listing on the page.

To show an example from the website, the Fashion category listings page does not have “Fashion” as its page’s header, but “Revival Couture” which is the first listing on the page.

I gathered this is most likely an issue with how the theme (Mural) generates the page’s sub-menu header. The GD-generated page title actually works and is displaying below the sub-menu header and the GD search bar.

Is GD the source of this issue, or the theme? How do I go about fixing this?

Would you share a screen grab of the Edit Place Category for that page?

Are you using %%title%% as title in GD > titles and meta > listings page title?
    You should use %%category%%
    See https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-core-plugin-titles-metas/#variables

@craig Sure, I’ve attached a full screen grab of the Edit Place Category screen.

@guust I have my listing page meta title set to the default %%category%% %%in_location%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%, and my category listing page title is set to just %%category%%

The problem occurs on every category listings page.

    Hi,

that heading is not coming from GeoDirectory, but from the theme.

The heading from GeoDirectory is below the breadcrumb and it is correct.

We would need to have a look at the theme code to let you know how to correct this, or you could ask for support to the theme developer.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

Hello Paolo, thanks for replying and sorry for the late reply!

I’ve contacted the theme developer about the issue, but unfortunately the theme in question hasn’t been up-to-date since 2012. The developer was last active on the theme support some months ago, and I’m afraid he is now on a hiatus.

Personally the theme isn’t something I would have worked with, but it’s what the client specifically asks for. I would be more than happy to provide the theme code if you can direct me to the specific code sheets you’ll need.

    Thanks for the help!
