    We have a site, Good Local Venues, at https://goodlocalvenues.com which only has “Places” as the post type but which has a lot of categories within it.

    I have the search box prominently on the front page and would ideally like a drop down so people can choose the category (rather than the free text they have now) and then search the location. Is this possible?

    The reason is if someone types “Wedding Venues” near York – the search works fine as Wedding Venues ia a Category, whereas if they type “Castles” near York they get nothing because the Castle Category is called “Historic House/Heritage Site/Stately Home/Castle”
