    Hello,

    i have set up my blog as a category and it´s shown in list style, which is ok. http://prntscr.com/bt56l0

    anyways, i would like to have a sidebar here and can´t find it anywhere..
    there is a blog sidebar widget, which i activated under “customizer –> body –> sidebar”, but i can´t see it anywhere.. do i have to setup the blog differently than making with category?

    i do not want to modify the theme, just wanted to know why i cannot see the blog sidebar

    Hi bjoern,

    I think this can be achieved with some simple modifications. Do you think you can share WP admin access and FTP access to your server so we can check on it?

    i just don´t understand why it doesn´t look like on your example: http://wpgeo.directory/starter/blog/

    that´s exactly what i need, so i guess the blog sidebar would appear.. instead mine is full width and as it is a category i have no idea where to change this

    Hi,

    you just need to select the default template for that page, see image attached. i guess now you have the full width template selected.

    See image attached and let us know if that helped.

    the problem that we have is, that we will have 2 blogs for the website. so we wanted to run them as category overview pages. did you have this problem before? is there any code snippet that we can add to have sidebars in category overview pages?

    hi,

    you just need to set whatever is your blog page to use the default template, if you can’t make it work, please provide a link and admin credentials in a private reply and we will have a look.

    Thank you, but this was not the case, as we wanted a sidebar in category overview, not a usual blog. in category there is no way to choose a default template. we will run 2 kind of blogs on that page so we needed to create a category.php. it´s working now, thank you anyways!
