Is it possible to change the heart for a favorite to something else? I’m thinking a check box (un liked) and check mark when clicked.

Then I would like to change the text from “Favorite” to “Visited” – would this be possible?

    Thanks,

    Jack

    Hi,

This appears to be a custom request.

I imagine the icon would be an easy CSS change? The other part may be more difficult…

How would I go about getting a quote for this request?

    Thanks,

    Jack

Hello @jack3 (I remember you from an email about the checkin feature, am I wrong?:) ), that’s not an image, but it’s a web font.

About the custom text from Favorite to Visited, you can edit that text using the language file (geodirectory-en_US in /geodirectory-languages/)

    Best,

Hey @n0ise – glad to see you on here and running with things!

I actually made some changes and got it the way I want it (or close enough for now – I can tweak more later):
    http://www.eatlocalnky.com/location/

Now it comes down to upgrades. Having changed these couple of files, I’m concerned when upgrades come they will be overwritten… guess we will see!

Do you all know which files to edit for the “My Favorites” section? I now need to change it to say “Places I’ve Been” and I wouldn’t mind looking at the query to pull just the opposite and show the places you haven’t been.

    Thanks again!

    Jack

you like adventures, don’t you? 🙂

If it’s only the text, you can change that editing the .po file in the languages folder.
If you want to peek, you can take a look at the listing-listview.php in /geodirectory-templates (row 177/178) and at the geodirectory_widgets.php file in the root of the plugin, around row 262

Ha! I like playing around a little!

Not sure I understand the PO file well enough. I’ll dig into the other two that you mentioned.

    Thanks!

The .po file is a file used for translating (or just editing) the strings.
You can learn how to translate (or just edit, as in your case) by reading this tutorial
