    Good afternoon!
I noticed that [gd_location_switcher] and CHANGE LOCATION offers locations “near” from countries not by default. I can see it on GD demo sites as well.

Why does it work like that? It is misleading to the user. How do I fix it?

By the way, when I look for an address on a new listing, there is no such problem.

It would help greatly if that was in latin characters. Can you provide a latin string I could check?

    Alex, good morning!
I was able to reproduce the error when I switched the map language to English and used Latin to find the location.

    The results are very interesting.

Here you can see that there are regions from Poland.

Here you can see that there are places “near” in France, Italy, India, USA and Brazil.

Here you can see a strange result. We found locations in Ukraine (the default country), but there is no word in their name that I entered in the search.

Yes, I think you can see this is a simple text match. ‘des’ text appears in the query and so places with ‘des’ in the name are listed.

Yes, thank you, now I can see the letter matches inside the word.

I think you’ll agree that the tool doesn’t work well.

What do I need to do so that a search does not offer results from a country that is not the default?

And how do I make sure that a search only searches the first letters of a word?

You would need to customize it.

I have made a note of your feedback for the developers to review and consider for changes to this feature in the future.

Alex, can you clarify, please, I will need to make settings after the developers make changes? I can’t fix anything right now?

What you are asking for requires customization outside of support.

While we are considering improvements to this and many other features we will need to review the feature requests and the developers will decide what will be included in future releases.

If you want or need help with customizing your search functionality you can hire a developer. You can find help here:

I got it. I’ll wait for the next version. And now I’m not using the CHANGE LOCATION. I’m gonna replace it with a menu that lists the locations that users need.
