    Hi,

I cant find any recent topic but the docs on: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/multilingual/

There is no plugin to download. The link just redirects to my account.
How can I connect WPML to GD?

    Hi Dirk,

Thanks for your post. You can download it from here https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/wpml-multilingual/ . I’ve also corrected the links on our article https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/multilingual/ and thanks for the heads up.

    Hi Kor and others,

I am having troubles with the following configuration

WPML addon bridge adds a setting at: /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=gd_place&page=gd_place-settings&tab=cpt

Enable frontend duplicate? Enable frontend duplicate? Tick to allow users to translate their listings via WPML duplicate translation.

What does it do exactly? I am adding listings myself and see no changes related to multilingual options?

Oh BTW, your support is really amazing. you guys are fast helpful and very knowledgable. I’ve seen differently in my career. Chapeau!

For a multilingual site all the content (listings, pages, posts) must be translated.

The frontend duplicate makes the WPML page duplication function available from the frontend to the listing owners, so they can help with translation of their listings into other languages.

    Hi Alex,

Where can I find this function. I don’t see any duplicate function on front end?

It is a GD Element. You can use it as a block, widget, or shortcode.

Most people use it as a widget in the details page sidebar.

Go to the widgets page and find it there, then add it to the details page sidebar.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for the explanation. I have activated it as widget but nothing shows.
Even after disabling all cache deleted all cookies nothing shows.
    Am I doing something incorrectly?

I see this if I look the code up on front end. Looks like the widget is not loaded

Did you add it to a sidebar that shows on the GD Details page template? That is the only place it is effective, on the details page template.

If we need to check the settings please share credentials in a private reply AND a link to the WP Backend edit page for the template so we know where to look.

    Alex found the config issue:

(for users also having the same issue as me)
    Go to: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpml-translation-management%2Fmenu%2Fsettings

    Section: Post Types Translation
Find: (gd_place), (gd_event) or any CPT you have configured and set them to:
Translatable – use translation if available or fallback to default language

Default install sets them to not translate.

    Save and fixed!

    One little remark though;

When I enable this function and have the (gd_place), (gd_event) or any CPT you have configured and set them to:
Translatable – use translation if available or fallback to the default language.

The not yet translated places are not showing on the selected language.
Does this mean the fallback solution does not work with geodirectory?

The places are also not fetched in the search query.

If you have setup your site to be translated, then, content must be translated before it will show in loop queries or on the map.

Fallback is for a direct link tot he details page.

Search is also translated, so, yes it will only search in translated content.
