Converting dashboard dropdown menu's to buttons. Can it be done?

Hello everybody. I was wondering if it is possible to change the dropdown menu’s in the dashboard to a button. I will only be having a single database, and it doesn’t really make any sense to select the database first when adding a new entry, so I wanted to change this to a button. Anyone care to enlighten me how this is done?

If you only want a link to add a listing in your dashboard, you can just remove the dashboard widget and style a link to your /add-listing page as a button, and put that in a text widget.
Changing the other links is a bit more difficult, because they are dynamically generated, and that would require some customization.
