    Which page is the CPT listing page? The page which show ALL listing in a CPT.

    The search results will always load on a new page.
    If the search page does not work as expected, try changing the slug to something else than “search”. Depending on your plugins, other plugins may be using that slug.

    You can add the categories to the search, using the Advanced Search addon, similar to https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/

    Try de-activating Buddypress or change the slug of the GD search page.
    Let us know.
