    Hi – feature request

I get the cropping for images in the lists of businesses, but it would be awesome if we could drag the image in the cropping box to choose what will show when it is cropped rather than manually having to go away and make a custom sized image, especially where logos are concerned.

Being able to add instructions in the image upload box for dimensions so users can pre-make to fit the template would also be helpful.

I don’t understand what you are referring to about the cropping. What page are you talking about?
You can add instructions by changing the “Please drag & drop the images to rearrange the order” text in the language file if you like: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/category/translation/

I mean when you look at the page with the table of listings (category or search results), the default image is cropped rather than all of the image showing in the space.

In many other applications when an image is uploaded the user can resize the image box to include all of the image, or drag the image within the cropping frame to control what portions of the image get cropped out.

I will look at the instructions page for adding the text – it’s just my experience that most users do not have editing programs and won’t know how to create their logo image in particular to be the right dimensions for this space.

Hi, I have downloaded the .po file but can not find that line in the file and I’ve read through it 4 times. Is there a different .po file than the one in the theme subfolder called /languages/?

    Hi,

the plugin po file must be translated for that. geodirectory/geodirectory-languages/geodirectory-en_US.po

Please read the docuemntation linked by Guust: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/

    Thank you

My path is themes/geodirectory_framework/languages/en_US.po (I have looked through the huge file 4 times with no luck finding it).

    Hi,

that is the po file of the theme. You need to look into the plugin po file as explained in the documentation.

    Thanks

Just one clarification: the images are not really cropped, but the space for showing the images on category pages etc is limited.
Some users’ logo will be long and others will be tall; they will display in full on the detail page.
Unless all images would have to conform to a set size, that is how it works. If it would work any other way, users could no longer use landscape and portrait images etc.
