Cross-category for related listings?

I was wondering whether it would be possible to show listings in the related listings tab for a specific category that is not the same as the listing being viewed. Which files would I have to modify? If so, would it be possible to have multiple related listing tabs, (i,e, one for each category!)

You can relate by tags or category, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-design/#related

Anything else would need customization.
