Custom fields depending on the category

    I have read the whole forum and I know that this topic comes back from time to time and is still not considered. But maybe it is worth asking during the V2 uprising.

    Would not it be a better solution to give custom fields to the category and not to “supercategories” what are the custom post types?

    It would be a great approach to a better, more thought-out UX in both managing and adding adverts.

    Each category may differ from each other but they are more or less connected to the CPT.

    Where is the problem, how can we help make this functionality a standard?

    That is not the way it works with GeoDirectory, specifically because we use custom tables for listings and then still use WP Categories to group listings. Though other custom field plugins do take a ‘field group’ approach we just don’t do it that way.
